If you wish to study at Université Sorbonne Paris Nord, you must follow a different procedure depending on your profile and what you plan to study.
Registering for the first year of a Licence
The admissions procedure prior to registration as a student is determined by articles D612-11 to D612-18 of the French Education Code.
1. You are a national of one of the countries of the European Union.

White form – admissions application : this admissions procedure concerns students residing abroad outside of the European Union who hold a school-leaving certificate from a foreign school and who wish to register as first-time students for the first or second year of the Licence or the first year of medical studies.
In countries where an organization exists called Centre pour les Etudes en France (Center for Studies in France), which part of the French Embassy, you must complete an on-line admissions form at the website of Campus France: www.campusfrance.org

1. You are a resident in a CEF country
If you are resident in one of the following countries: Algeria, Argentina, Benin, Brazil, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Chile, China, Colombia, Congo-Brazzaville, South Korea, Ivory Coast, United States, Gabon, Guinea, India, Japan, Lebanon, Madagascar, Mali, Morocco, Mauritius, Mexico, Peru, Russia, Senegal, Syria, Taiwan, Tunisia, Turkey, Vietnam.
You must register at the website of Campus France by the specified deadlines. Since Université Sorbonne Paris Nord is connected to this system, it is useless to obtain the equivalent forms from Université Sorbonne Paris Nord directly.
The student’s application from abroad will reach Université Sorbonne Paris Nord electronically and responses will be sent to the candidate’s e-mail address.
2. You are resident in a « non-CEF » country or you are an EU national
You must submit your application directly to Université Sorbonne Paris Nord. If your application is accepted, you will receive a pre-registration application pack which must be returned to Université Sorbonne Paris Nord.
Do not forget to inform yourself about the necessary procedures and carry them out before your departure so that you obtain a residence permit that conforms to the rules in force.

A minimum level of French is required for admission.
You can find information about the different French language tests and the pass requirements at the website of the CIEP (International Center for Pedagogical Studies).
The following are exempt from the requirement to provide proof of language ability (the Test d’évaluation du français for the admissions procedure).
• Citizens of states where French is the official language
• Foreign students from institutions that have French bilingual departments
• Holders of the DELF B2 (a French language certificate) and the DALF C1 or C2 (a more advanced French language certificate)
• Candidates who have successfully passed the Test d’évaluation du français (TEF) organized by the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry and have obtained at least 14/20 in the written test.
